Armenia becomes an Associate State
The Republic of Armenia became an Associate State on 17 June 2026, strengthening its participation in the international measurement system.
Associate membership will allow Armenia to take part in activities of the BIPM, through representation (without voting rights) at the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM), and to join the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA).
In addition, they will have access to BIPM capacity building and e-learning activities.
Participation in the international measurement system
As an Associate State, Armenia, through its National Metrology Institute - the National Body for Standards and Metrology (ARMSTANDARD) - is eligible to join the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA).
Following signing of the CIPM MRA by the Director of ARMSTANDARD, Armenia will be able to participate in international scientific comparisons and develop Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs), as well as publish them in the CIPM MRA database (KCDB).
