Looking Ahead: Key Priorities from the CIPM Strategy 2030+
As the global measurement system adapts to a fast-changing scientific and policy landscape, the CIPM Strategy 2030+ sets out a clear vision for how metrology can continue to support innovation, resilience and inclusive development.
Launched just in time for the 150th Anniversary of the Metre Convention, on the BIPM website, the strategy outlines the priorities of the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM). It serves as a guiding framework for the work of the BIPM, the Consultative Committees of the CIPM and supports alignment across national and regional metrology systems.
Five Strategic Priorities
The strategy is built around five key priorities (indicated on page 4) to strengthen and modernize the international metrology system:
- Responding to evolving needs for metrology
- Addressing key scientific challenges to advance the global measurement system
- Deepening engagement with other international organizations on measurement
- Universal adherence to the Metre Convention
- Modernizing the operations of the Organization
