New World Metrology Day Video Explores Measurement, Regulation and Trust

What role do measurements play in building trust in regulation and public policy?

In a new BIPM interview — released as part of the 2026 World Metrology Day celebrations — OECD’s Natalie Cohen, Head of Unit, Regulatory Governance for Global Challenges, Public Governance Directorate explores the role of trusted measurement in regulatory systems and policymaking.

In the interview, Natalie Cohen reflects on how quality infrastructure — including standards, metrology, conformity assessment, accreditation and market surveillance — support regulatory governance, interoperability and confidence in the safety of products and services that we rely on in our daily lives.
