Membership

  • Experts invited by the CCL
  • The RMO TC-L chairpersons
  • Guests can be invited by the chair on a one-off basis

Chair and Co-chair

  • The chair and co-chair are appointed by the CCL.
  • The mandate of the chair and co-chair is 4 years.
  • The co-chair takes over on retirement of the chair, unless they decline to do so.
  • The CCL appoints a new co-chair or chair when necessary.

Area

The purpose of this Task Group is to exchange digitalization information and coordinate digitalization activities between the RMO TC-L committees and to provide feedback (via the chair) to the CIPM FORUM-MD ‘WG of the Consultative Committees’, on digital opportunities, challenges, activities, and requirements from the NMIs/DIs in the field of length metrology.

Activities

  • To define the interactions and responsibilities with respect to other FORUM-MD WG/TGs;
  • To collect generic needs from NMIs/DIs to influence BIPM digital services and vice versa;
  • To support the CCL in progressing digital transformation in a harmonized way through sharing information, resources and best practices amongst the RMOs;
  • To regularly meet to exchange information on dedicated topics;
  • To advise the CCL on the digital transformation for metrology;
  • To communicate CCL needs, relating to digital transformation, to the Forum, the CIPM, the BIPM.
