Six-month internship - Communications
The BIPM seeks an intern to support the Communications team:
- Department: International Liaison and Communication Department (ILC)
- Deadline for applications: 30 March 2026 (23h59 Paris time)
- Starting date: between April and July 2026
- Contract: Internship, 6 months - Full-time basis, in Sèvres (Paris suburb)
- Allowance: 800 EUR/month
The International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to provide the basis for a coherent system of measurements throughout the world, traceable to the International System of Units (SI). The BIPM is based in Sèvres, in the outskirts of Paris (France), and has an international staff of about 65.
Principal Mission
We offer an exciting opportunity for aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience within an international scientific organization. The intern will contribute to a range of projects, including:
- Digital Communications: Assisting in the development and implementation of content strategies for social media, website updates and digital campaigns.
- Publishing: Supporting the production of technical and scientific publications, including layout, formatting and content organization.
- Editorial Support: Providing assistance in content editing, proofreading and the creation of communications materials.
Ideal Profile
We welcome applications from students in the field of communications, digital media, journalism, publishing or related areas.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French proficiency is an asset)
- Strong Graphic Design skills
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms (including LinkedIn, YouTube, Canva and/or other digital design and social media publishing tools)
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
