The BIPM's institutional liaison work
The BIPM works in close cooperation with many other international bodies concerned with different aspects of metrology, and continues to develop new contacts where a closer relation might help strengthen use of the SI, and in due course lead to a greater interaction between the organization and the NMIs.
At the corporate level, liaison work is authorized on a case-by-case basis by the CIPM, and several of these liaisons have been formalized through an Agreement or a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). At the invitation of the CIPM, four international organizations now participate in the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA)
The BIPM institutional liaisons include Quality Infrastructure (QI) partners through INetQI and other institutional liaisons.
Many other technical liaisons are also maintained, particularly through the work of the Consultative Committees and Joint Committees.
