In addition to the Member States, 37 Associates participate in BIPM activities, reflecting widespread international collaboration.

More than 4 000 individuals from 126 countries have engaged in the BIPM’s Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer (CBKT) programs, enhancing global metrological capabilities.
As of December 2024, 26 125 CMCs have been published in the KCDB (across general physics, ionizing radiation and chemistry) and 1 211 key comparisons and 713 supplementary comparisons have been carried out, ensuring international consistency and equivalence in measurement standards.
A total of 258 institutes, comprising 98 NMIs, 156 DIs and 4 international organizations, participate in the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA), ensuring global equivalence of measurement standards.
