Overview
The 2026 Summer School for RMO TC/WG Chairs was successfully held from 30 June to 2 July 2026 at the BIPM Headquarters in Sèvres. The summer school brought together 27 participants, including RMO TC/WG Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and newly appointed or potential future TC/WG Chairs representing all RMOs.
The Summer School was organized to support RMO TC/WG Chairs in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities within the framework of the CIPM MRA.
The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of CIPM MRA processes and develop practical skills for their effective implementation. Through a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, case studies and hands-on exercises using the KCDB-CBKT learning tool, participants explored key aspects of CMC reviews, comparison coordination and TC/WG management.
The discussions throughout the three-day programme resulted in the collaborative development of practical good-practice guidance, based on existing RMO practices and RMO TC/WG Chairs’ shared experiences. The guidance will serve as a practical reference to support TC/WG Chairs in their daily operations, promote consistency and efficiency across RMOs, and be maintained and further developed as a living resource.
