A "Train the trainer" course aimed at assisting RMOs with the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is being organized as a follow-up to Resolution 3 of the 39th meeting of the Joint Committee of the Regional Metrology Organizations and the BIPM (JCRB). The Resolution states that "the RMOs shall ensure that all NMIs and DIs declaring CMCs within the CIPM MRA shall have demonstrated the conformance of their quality management systems to of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, no later than three years after the publication date of the standard".
The "Train the trainer" course will focus on effective implementation of the new edition of the standard and its application to the CIPM MRA. The course will enable RMO TC/WG Chairs on Quality Management Systems to exchange best practices and plans, to share RMO experiences/challenges on QS review and peer-evaluation within the CIPM MRA, and finally to develop material for further knowledge transfer at the RMO level.

- Common understanding of the new edition of ISO/IEC 17025
- Training the trainers, including development of materials that can be used at the RMO level for further knowledge transfer
- Transparent RMO processes on QS
The course is limited to a maximum number of 24 participants, applicants to be nominated by the RMOs. The target audience is RMO TC/WG Chairs working in the area of Quality Management Systems and RMO TC/WG Members involved in Quality System review and peer-evaluation of NMI/DI technical capabilities.

There is no registration fee and the BIPM will provide coffee breaks and lunches during the two day course. Financial support will be provided for a limited number of participants covering course participation, airfare and hotel costs. Eligibility for financial support will be assessed by taking into account the UN Scale "Scale of assessments for the apportionment of the expenses of the United Nations" for the State of which the respective RMO TC/WG Chairs on Quality Management Systems and RMO TC/WG Members are nationals.
