Results of the election of the CIPM bureau
The newly elected International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) met at the BIPM headquarters on 16 October 2026. One of the main tasks at this meeting was to elect an interim President and Secretary.
Results of the election of the interim CIPM President and Secretary
The following were elected:
Interim CIPM President
Philippe Richard (Switzerland)
Interim CIPM Secretary
Hans Arne Frøystein (Norway)
An interim President and Secretary were elected today, enabling the newly elected CIPM to begin its work immediately following the 28th CGPM and act on the mandate entrusted to it by the Conference. The CIPM will elect its full Bureau, including the President, Secretary and Vice-Presidents, at its next meeting in March 2027.
