The Workshop on overcoming challenges to global standardization of clinical laboratory testing: reference materials and regulations, will be held on-line from 6 to 10 December 2021.

This workshop is being organized jointly by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) Scientific Division, the International Consortium for Harmonization of Clinical Laboratory Results (ICHCLR) and the Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine (JCTLM).

Participation is open to those in the field of clinical laboratory testing and related activities, including regulatory requirements and global standardization.

The aim is the workshop is to develop and publish recommendations on how the laboratory medicine community can address challenges related to reference materials and to country and region-specific regulations to achieve standardized results more effectively on a global basis.

An outline of the programme is: 
Session 1: What are the needs and logistical challenges for standardized results?
Session 2: What are the challenges for CRM producers?
Session 3: What are the challenges to meet regulatory requirements in different countries or regions?
Session 4: Develop workshop recommendations for publication and follow up actions
