Abstract

This report presents the results of the COOMET supplementary comparison COOMET Project 873/RU-a/23 in the field of combustion energy measurements of pure organic substances. The comparison involved three national metrology institutes: VNIIM (Russia), BelGIM (Belarus) and NIM (China).
Two comparison samples prepared by the pilot laboratory (VNIIM) were used: anthracene and dodecane. The gross calorific value of the samples was measured using bomb calorimeters operated according to the measurement procedures adopted in each laboratory.
The comparison results were evaluated according to COOMET Recommendation COOMET-R/GM/19:2016. The obtained reference values were 39626 ± 5 kJ/kg for anthracene and 47319 ± 6 kJ/kg for dodecane. The results of all participants were consistent and confirmed their measurement capabilities.
