Date limite fixée au 14 septembre pour s'inscrire à l'atelier BIPM-OMM sur le rôle de la métrologie dans la lutte contre le changement climatique

The BIPM would like to invite you to register and contribute to the online BIPM-WMO Metrology for Climate Action workshop, which will be held on 26-30 September 2022.

The online workshop is open to experts active in climate science, observations, GHG mitigation and measurement, modelling and measurement science who are willing to contribute to the development of recommendations on key technical challenge areas for metrology in these fields. Participation in the workshop is free of charge.

To register, please use the link “REGISTER NOW” and contribute to the output of the workshop that will be a set of recommendations on key technical challenge areas for metrology over the next decade.

The workshop will focus on progress and identifying requirements for further development of advanced measurements, standards, reference data, comparisons, calibrations supporting the physical science basis for and adaptation to climate change. In addition it will identify stakeholders’ metrology needs, assess current metrological techniques, analyses, and modeling capabilities, and identify gaps in quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and uptake for effective actions on mitigating climate change and its impacts.

The timetable of activities prior to and during the workshop week can be found at https://www.bipmwmo22.org/workshop-organization with the opening online plenary session starting at 13h00 (UTC+2) on 26 September.
