The cutoff uncertainty (0.30 %) was applied to the measurements of LNE-INM/Cnam, NMIA, NIM, NPL and PTB in the calculation of xR.

Measurements from INTI and the BIPM were excluded from the calculation of xR.

Acronyms of participants in CCPR-K4 (1997 - 1998) were updated in June 2015.

Results are presented under A4 printable format in Summary Results (PDF file).

  • Key comparison CCPR-K4

The key comparison reference value, xR, is calculated as the weighted average of the invidual results xi, weighted by the inverse square of the individual standard uncertainties, ui, with the application of a minimum cutoff of 0.30%.
INTI and the BIPM are excluded from the calculation of xR.
The standard uncertainty of xR is uR = 0.1%. It is negligible compared to the ui values.

The degree of equivalence of each laboratory with respect to the reference value is given by a pair of terms: Di = (xi - xR) / xR and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), both expressed in relative units. Ui = 2ui.
When required, the degree of equivalence between two laboratories is given by a pair of terms: Dij = (xi - xj) / xR and Uij, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), both expressed in relative units. Uij = 2(ui2 + uj2)1/2.
  • Linking EURAMET.PR-K4 to CCPR-K4

Beside the pilot laboratory, PTB, INRIM and LNE-INM/Cnam acted as linking laboratories for EURAMET.PR-K4. The luminous flux maintained at the linking laboratories was used to evaluate the EURAMET reference value as a weighted luminous flux average.

By definition, the CCPR-K4 key comparison reference value and the EURAMET.PR-K4 reference value have identical values (see Section 4.2 of the EURAMET.PR-K4 Final Report, especially Table 4 and Figure 4), but the expanded uncertainty associated with the EURAMET reference value is about triply the expanded uncertainty associated with the CCPR-K4 key comparison reference value.

The realized or preserved luminous flux values of the EURAMET participants were compared with the EURAMET reference value in a star-type comparison at the pilot with batches of three to six lamps of various types.
The degrees of equivalence with respect to the EURAMET reference value were evaluated and then directly transferred to the CCPR-K4 key comparison reference value.
  • Linking SIM.PR-K4 to CCPR-K4

NRC and NIST provide the link between key comparisons CCPR-K4 and SIM.PR-K4 and, the linkage process is described in Section 9.2 of the SIM.PR-K4 Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of the participant in SIM.PR-K4 with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms both dimensionless:
Di and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), computed as explained in Section 9.2 of the Final Report.

  • Linking COOMET.PR-K4.1 to CCPR-K4

VNIIOFI provides the link between key comparisons CCPR-K4 and COOMET.PR-K4.1, and the linkage process is described in Section 5 of the COOMET.PR-K4.1 Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of NSC "Institute of Metrology" participant in COOMET.PR-K4.1 with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms both dimensionless:
Di and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), computed as explained in Section 6 of the Final Report.

  • Linking APMP.PR-K4 to CCPR-K4

NIM, NMISA and NMIJ-AIST provide the link between key comparisons CCPR-K4 and APMP.PR-K4, and the linkage process is described in Section 8 of the APMP.PR-K4 Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of the participants in APMP.PR-K4 with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms both dimensionless:
Di and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), computed as explained in Section 8 of the Final Report.

  • Linking EURAMET.PR-K4.2 to CCPR-K4

LNE/INM-Cnam provides the link between key comparisons CCPR-K4 and EURAMET.PR-K4.2, and the linkage process is described in Section 4 of the EURAMET.PR-K4.2 Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of RMC-LIPI, participant in EURAMET.PR-K4.2 with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms both dimensionless:
Di and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2), computed as explained in Section 8 of the Final Report.

  • Linking EURAMET.PR-K4.3 to CCPR-K4

IO-CSIC provides the link between key comparisons CCPR-K4 and EURAMET.PR-K4.3, and the linkage process is described in Section 5 of the EURAMET.PR-K4.3 Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of UME participant in EURAMET.PR-K4.3 with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms both dimensionless:

  • Key comparison CCPR-K4

The individual measurements, xi, of the participating laboratories take the form of ratios which depend on the reference used at the pilot laboratory, the PTB. This is cancelled out by normalization using the key comparison reference value, xR. This procedure leads to normalized individual measurements: xi / xR.

  • Key comparison EURAMET.PR-K4

The participants' measurements are given in Annex B of the EURAMET.PR-K4 Final Report.
