"Phase A1" is the first of a series of 3 measurements phases described in Report of the 6th Meeting of the CCM , 1996, G35-36. The other phases, "Phase A2" and "Phase B", correspond respectively to key comparison CCM.P-K1.b and key comparison CCM.P-K1.c.

MEASURAND : Effective area of Piston-cylinder unit DH 6594 determined from dimensional measurements
NOMINAL VALUE : 10 cm2

The key comparison reference value, xR, is obtained as the non-weighted average of the results from the four participants (the two results of the PTB were averaged before the reference value calculation). xR is not explicitly given here since the unit is currently used in a EUROMET comparison. The standard uncertainty the reference value, uR, is taken as the experimental standard deviation of the mean.
uR / xR = 1.7 10-6.

The degree of equivalence of each laboratory with respect to the reference value is given by a pair of terms:
Di = (xi - xR)/xR, the relative deviation from the reference value, and
Ui = 2(ui2 + uR2)1/2 / xR, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2).

The degree of equivalence between two laboratories is given for each transfer standard by a pair of terms:
Dij = Di - Dj = (xi - xj) / xR, the relative difference between their results, and
Uij = 2(ui2 + uj2)1/2 / xR, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2).

MEASURAND : Effective area of Piston-cylinder unit DHI 107 determined from dimensional measurements
NOMINAL VALUE : 10 cm2

The key comparison reference value, xR, is obtained as the non-weighted average of the results from the four participants (the two results from the BNM-LNE were averaged before the reference value calculation). xR = 9.805188 cm2.
The standard uncertainty of the reference value, uR, is taken as the experimental standard deviation of the mean.
uR / xR = 2.4 10-6.

The degree of equivalence of each laboratory with respect to each reference value is given by a pair of terms:
Di = (xi - xR)/xR, the relative deviation from the reference value, and
Ui = 2(ui2 + uR2)1/2 / xR, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2)
