The key comparison reference value xR and its associated standard uncertainty uR  are based on the DerSimonian-Laird variance-weighted mean (DSL) of the participants' results excluding those of NMIM as reported on page 32 of the Final Report.

The degree of equivalence of laboratory i relative to the key comparison reference value xR is given by a pair of terms, both expressed in mg/g:

Di = (xi - xR) and its expanded uncertainty Ui at a 95 % level of confidence where Ui = 2 (uR2 + ui2)1/2.
