JCGM Working Group on the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (JCGM-WG1:GUM)

Mission

Working Group 1 (WG1) of the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) has responsibility for maintaining the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement, which is used worldwide at all levels of the measurement chain, from NMIs to industry, under the name JCGM 100:2008 (GUM 1995 with minor corrections).

In addition, the JCGM-WG1 has extended the scope of the GUM by producing a number of complementary documents to cover related topics in more detail. In this new perspective, JCGM100:2008 and all the complementary publications are parts of the GUM, which encompasses the whole suite of documents.
