ISO/REMCO Committee on Reference Materials

ISO Committee on Reference Materials (ISO/REMCO) was established with the aim of encouraging the harmonization and promotion of certified reference materials (CRMs), their production and applications, and to make available guidelines for other technical committees to refer to when discussing reference materials in ISO documents. Its annual meeting is attended in roughly equal mixture by representatives from NMIs and other organizations that produce CRMs, and by national standards organisations.

The Committee's main ouputs have been the establishment of definitions, categories, levels and classification of reference materials for use by ISO, and the preparation of guidelines on various aspects of the production and use of RMs and CRMs.
