Dr Richard Davis (BIPM) is the recipient of this year's NCSLI William A. Wildhack Award for outstanding contributions to the field of metrology and measurement science.
The announcement was made on 28 August 2018 at the NCSLI Workshop and Symposium held in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements have been made for the award to be presented to Dr Davis in Paris on 15 November 2018, at a reception to be held at Musée des Arts et Métiers in conjunction with the 26th CGPM, at which approval is expected to be given to the revised International System of Units.
In 2010 the CIPM awarded Dr Davis the exceptional title of Principal Research Physicist Emeritus after his retirement as Head of the BIPM's Mass Section. Since then he has been working as BIPM Consultant.
