The CIPM appoints two new CC Presidents
The CIPM appointed two new CC Presidents at Session I of its 104th meeting (March 2015).
Massimo Inguscio Prof. Massimo Inguscio from the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM), Italy, was appointed as President of the Consultative Committee for Length (CCL) for a four-year term. Prof. Inguscio is the President of INRIM and took his seat at the CIPM for the first time in March 2015. He succeeds Dr Attilio Sacconi, who stepped down from the position of President of the CCL, a role he held since 2007.
The CIPM also appointed Dr Gert Rietveld from the Van Swinden Laboratory (VSL), the Netherlands, as President of the Consultative Committee for Electricity and Magnetism (CCEM) for a four-year term. Dr Rietveld is a Principal Scientist at the VSL and also took his seat at the CIPM for the first time in March 2015. He succeeds Dr Barry Inglis, who has stepped down as President of the CCEM, a role he held since 2003. Gert Rietveld
