The CIPM appoints two new CC Presidents
The CIPM appointed two new CC Presidents at Session II of its 103rd meeting in November 2014.
Dr Wynand Louw from NMISA, South Africa, was appointed to be the next President of the Consultative Committee for Ionizing Radiation (CCRI). Dr Louw is the Director for Research and Technology Development at the NMISA and has been a member of the CIPM since May 2013. He succeeds Dr Kim Carneiro, who has stepped down from the position of President of the CCRI, which he held since 2008.
The CIPM also appointed Dr Takashi Usuda from NMIJ, Japan, to be the next President of the Consultative Committee for Acoustics, Ultrasound and Vibration (CCAUV). Dr Usuda is the Director of the Metrology Management Center (MMC), NMIJ and has been a member of the CIPM since July 2012. He succeeds Dr Joachim Valdés, who has stepped down as President of the CCAUV, a role he held since 2000. Dr Usuda has also been the President of the Consultative Committee for Photometry and Radiometry (CCPR) since January 2013.
