Hi Jim,

I cycled power on the AMC TurboRogue, per Linda's request, at 1934 UTC, today,
MJD 51323, 25 May 1999.

Let us know if this has caused any problems.

Thanks,

Steven

Hi Jim,

After I received Steven's e-mail about the receiver at AMC2,
I dialed in to check the receiver and flashcard. The receiver
was tracking only 5 of 8 satellites, and the Flashcard
would only bring up data to the end of May 22. With Ernie's
help, we tried to reboot the receiver but could not stop
tracking. I gave the command, but the receiver would not
respond. Then it would not respond to any commands I gave it.
I enlisted Steven's help to turn the receiver off and then
back on. After that was done I was able to perform a reboot
but the the receiver would not track. It was trying to receive
signals but couldn't lock in. It did a "change mode" twice and a
"syncing to GPS time" several times and still would not track.
I turned the Clock Steering On temporarily to rule out that
being a problem. While I was waiting for the tracking, I
checked the flashcard and had full data to the present time.
To be on the safe side, I went ahead and downloaded today's
data through the 20:00 UTC just in case we had to clean the
Flashcard. By the time the data finished downloading, the
receiver was tracking all eight satellites with no problems.
I turned the Clock Steering OFF, and started tracking again.
Within five minutes we were up and tracking, so it looks like
we did not have to clean the flashcard and should have a full
data file tomorrow morning. Thanks to Steven and Ernie, I think
   we are back up again.

Since this receiver is still under warranty, I wanted to let
you know of any problems. So, for now, this is just
   For Your Information.

By the way, we have the receiver site type set at FIXED for
both AMC2 and USNO. The question was brought up that they
should be set at CLOCK. Could you verify this for me? Which
   should it be?

   Thank You,
   Linda
