Circular 7, 2 June 2000JCR07.1. Report of the Joint Committee at IAU meetings At the IAU Colloquium 180 (Washington DC, 27-30 March 2000), I presented the paper "Report of the BIPM/IAU Joint Committee on relativity for space-time reference systems and metrology". The written version was circulated to the group on May 4 (Document JCR06.j). It includes the presentation of the two Resolutions that were presented to the Colloquium 180: Resolution 4 (as numbered at the Colloquium): Extended relativistic framework for time transformations and realization of coordinate times in the solar system. Resolution 9 (as numbered at the Colloquium): Re-definition of Terrestrial Time TT. The text of all resolutions, as adopted at the colloquium on March 30, may be found on the Colloquium site. As a few corrections were introduced after that date to the text of the two 'JCR Resolutions', I transmit their updated text (as of 1 May 2000) in an accompanying document (numbered JCR07.a) in Word format. The IAU General Assembly will take place in Manchester (UK) August 7-18, 2000. For information see the IAU GA site. The Joint Discussion 2 "Towards models and constants for sub-microarcsecond astrometry" is scheduled for August 10. The report of the Joint Committee to the IAU will be presented at JD2. Please make comments on the report distributed on May 4, as presented to the IAU Colloquium 180, so that I may produce the Joint Committee report, on behalf of the members, in advance of the IAU General Assembly. JCR07.2. Received contributions Following is the list of contributions distributed to the group since Circular 6. The complete updated list of contributions is in the Web site.
JCR07.3. Call for contributions Looking forward to your contributions (to be sent to jcr@bipm.org for automatic distribution (to be sent to jcr@bipm.org for automatic distribution or gpetit@bipm.org) (no automatic distribution), or gpetit@bipm.org) (no automatic distribution), Gerard Petit |
