Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM)

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is a directorate general (DG) of the European Commission (EC). Its mission is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of European Union (EU) policies.

The JRC consists of seven institutes: The Institutes for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), Transuranium Elements (ITU), Energy and Transport (IET), the Protection and the Security of Citizen (IPSC), Environment and Sustainability (IES), Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP) and Prospective Technology Studies (IPTS).

The IRMM is a signatory of the CIPM MRA and a member of the CCQM. Members of the JRC contribute to various CCQM and JCTLM working groups. The IRMM has contributed to various CCQM workshops.
