The BIPM publishes a bilingual (French–English) brochure called Le Bureau international des poids et mesures/The International Bureau of Weights and Measures (2007), which gives an account of the activities of the BIPM and an outline of its organizational structure.

This is complemented by The Pavillon de Breteuil: A brief outline from 1672 to the present day (1991), and its French counterpart, Le Pavillon de Breteuil : Bref historique de 1672 à nos jours (1991, reprinted in 1997).
