In accordance with the Metre Convention the BIPM is responsible for publishing a number of reports for the Member States:
Reports of the CIPM:
Reports from the BIPM and CGPM:
The Metre Convention stipulates that the reports and publications of the CIPM and the BIPM should be communicated in French to the Governments of the High Contracting Parties. Printed copies of the above official publications are therefore distributed officially via the Member State embassies in Paris.
The BIPM also publishes the reports of the CIPM's Consultative Committees:
Since 2004 (following a decision of the CIPM in 2003) the reports of the Consultative Committees are published in electronic format only, and uniquely in English.
The BIPM is a member organization of the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM), which has the task to maintain and promote the use of the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (the GUM) and the International Vocabulary of Basic and General Terms in Metrology (the VIM).
The latest versions of these and related publications can be downloaded free of charge from the BIPM website:
