The International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) and the World Health Organization (WHO), recognizing the need to strengthen the links between their organizations in order to ensure worldwide comparability and traceability of measurements in laboratory medicine, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 22 October 2002.
