 At its 24th meeting (2011), the CGPM invited the CIPM to establish an ad hoc Working Group charged with conducting a Review of the role, mission, objectives, long-term financial stability, strategic direction and governance of the BIPM.
The ad hoc Working Group has the following objectives:
- Review the role, mission, objectives, long-term financial viability, strategic direction and governance of the BIPM, in accordance with the Terms of Reference set by the CGPM at its 24th meeting.
- Produce an interim report with findings and preliminary recommendations to the CIPM by June 2012.
- Report findings and recommendations to the CIPM, States Parties to the Metre Convention and NMI Directors in October 2012.
- Produce a final report on the Review with findings and recommendations by March 2013, to be presented to the CIPM, States Parties to the Metre Convention and NMI Directors.
The ad hoc Working Group held its first meeting at the BIPM from 14-16 March 2012.
