The International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), recognizing the need to strengthen the links between accreditation and metrology and to cooperate and to coordinate their actions in respect of their tasks related to national and international measurement infrastructure, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 3 November 2001.
